1. The Moscow Kremlin - 600 years old fortress, a magnificent citadel of the tsars and
the Armoury - the royal treasury. ( Thursday is the day off)

We値l visit Cathedral Square a breathtaking architectural ensemble of the 15th-17th centuries, where the life of Russian grand princes and tsars started and ended, the Annunciation Cathedral were they were baptised the Assumption Cathedral where they were crowned the Archangel Michael where they were buried.


2. The Lenin mausoleum and St Basil Cathedral in Red square

You値l see the prominent square of Moscow that has been the scene of medieval religious ceremonies, riots, executions and soviet demonstrations. I値l show you the statues and the tombs of Josef Stalin, Leonid Brezhnev, Feliks Dzerzhinsky and other soviet luminaries, scientists and astronauts that are buried at the foot of the Kremlin wall behind the mausoleum. The Lenin mausoleum is opened from 10 am to 12.45 p.m.(except Mon , Fr ) and like in the Soviet times it is not allowed to take pictures, bring cameras and back-bags in the square and in the mausoleum at these hours.




3. The relics of Soviet Russia

During the tour we値l visit
* The Lenin Mausoleum in Red square and necropolis with the tombs of the luminaries of Stalin痴 epoch.
* The best of Moscow metro : Revolution square, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya stations. A stone from Solovets islands in the Lubyanskaya square, the KGB building.
* The Park of the deposed statues ( Stalin, Dzerzhinsky, Lenin )- a collection of some of the sculptures removed from around Moscow at the end of Soviet era in the immediate vicinity to the Central house of artists. Memorial to the victims of the GULAG at the same park.
* The Soviet official and unofficial painting ( the branch of the Tretyakov gallery).




4 . Sightseeing tour of the city by car or by minibus , by day / by night

We will look at the panorama of the Kremlin from beyond the Moscow river, after that we値l visit the Christ the Saviour Cathedral - the largest Moscow cathedral and the Novodevichy convent.
I値l show you the Moscow State University building - one of the 7th Stalin痴 skyscrapers on the Vorobyovi gori, then we値l look at World War II memorial complex "Poklonnaya Gora" , the White House - the building of Russian government and the New Arbat street.






5 . Zamoskvoreche

Zamoskvoreche ( literally 澱eyond the Moscow river) - an old and quiet district of Moscow. The area was almost untouched by the replanning of the 1930-s. In the 19-th century wealthy merchants settled there. A lot of beautiful churches in the district were built at their expense. For example The church of St. Clement, The Church of Resurrection in Kadashi etc. We値l visit the churches and the convent of Saints Martha and Mary which was founded by the saint martyr Grand Duchess Yelizaveta Fyodorovna, sister in law of Tsar Nicolas II. We値l have a look at the striking sculptural composition 鼎hildren are the victims of adult痴 vices created by Mihail Shemiakin in Blolotnaya square.



6. The Tretyakov gallery ( in preparation) Tue - Sun
In 1892 the millionaire merchant and textiles manufacturer Pavel Tretyakov presented his private museum to the city of Moscow. Nowadays it is the world痴 largest collection of Russian art and icons. The museum is situated in Zamoskvoreche so a visit to the gallery could be a part of the big tour around this old district of Moscow



7. European art in Moscow

The tour highlights are:
* The Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts- Russia痴 largest collection of Western European art, comprising Early Byzantine icons, Coptic portraits, Italian Renaissance, Poussin and Barbyson school. One of the best collections of French Impressionists. A perfectly displayed collection of ancient Egypt, mummies stellas, statues, manuscripts, sarcophaguses. 8. The Novodevichy convent. Wed - Mon

The most beautiful of fortified orthodox cloisters of Moscow which was founded in the early 16th century by Basil III. We can visit the Novodevichy cemetery as well where leading cultural and political figures are buried. Among them are playwright Anton Chechov, writer Nikolay Gogol, Nikita Khrushev, Michael Gorbachev痴 wife Raisa, Stalin痴 wife Nadezhda Allilueva etc.



9. A river boat tour down the Moscow river and visit to the Novospassky monastery .
( from May to October)
At first we値l visit the Novospassky monastery that is situated next-door to the pier from which the river boat departs. It runs every 20 minutes so we can take our time in the monastery. Then we値l get on the boat and in 1 hour get off near Moscow State University. And finally we値l take the ski-lift to get to the observation point. So the tour highlights are: The Novospassky monastery, The Panorama of the Moscow Kremlin, the "Krasniye holmy" cultural centre, Cathedral of Christ the Redeemer , the statue of Piter the Grate, the Gorky park, the Andreevsky monastery, the two Staln痴 skyscrapers - the Moscow State University building and the apartment house on Kotelnicheskaya emankment, the observation point on the Vorobiovy gory.



9. Through the deepest darkness...
The unofficial art of 1960-s - 1980-s and the fight for human rights: The Andrey Sakharov museum and community center ( Tue Sun ) and The Vadim Sidur museum.
* The Sakharov museum is open 6 days a week, and admission is free. The museum''s permanent exposition is divided into three sections: The USSR''s Totalitarian Past, with special emphasis on the history of repression, the prison camp system, and the human rights movement; Human Rights in Russia Today, including audiovisual displays on ethnic conflict in Chechnya, Tajikistan and other regions; and The Life and Work of Andrei Sakharov.
* The Vadim Sidur museum is dedicated to one the greatest Soviet artists and sculptors, "the Soviet Henry Moore" as Western journalists used to call him back in the seventies. A nonconformist artist, he was oppressed by the Soviet authorities for his artworks were a striking antithesis, both in form and in essence, of the canons of socialist realism.


11. Victory park ( Tue Sun)

A huge memorial complex which includes the Central museum of the 1941-145 Great Patriotic War, the Church of St George, the Victorious a synagogue, a mosque and a group of fountains.
There are over 4000 exhibits at the showcases of the museum.
* The dioramas devoted to the greatest combat operations of the Grate patriotic war(the Russian name for World War II).
* Six projection multi-screens continuously showing authentic newsreels of the Second World War are installed in the halls.
* The alleys of the park covering an area of over 3 hectares display more then 250 various samples of military equipment and from the time of the War. Special ramps display the legendary T-34 medium tank, the L-2 strike- fighter, the famed Katyusha, the intimidating ZIS- 3 division cannon - all of which were the best weaponry during the World War II.


12. Museum of Modern history
The exhibits cover Russian history from 1900 to the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.


13. Trinity monastery of St. Sergius

The spiritual centre of Russia. Beautiful monastery, fresh and pure air. 1.30 hours from Moscow by train or by car. ( 5-6 hrs ).
